Re: OOTP 9 / salary demands

Please don't add too much talent though. One of the interesting things about this league is that their isn't lots of "average" players to choose from. Sometimes you have to make the tough decision between a poor hitter but good glove or good hitter and poor glove. You have no other choice...

Re: OOTP 9 / salary demands

What if we delayed free agency? By that I don't mean changing an in-game setting, but doing it manually. Instead of us being able to offer contracts at the start of December (Or whenever it starts) just run the month of December in a sim, and start FA in January. I have no idea if that would work, ...

Re: Ways to Improve the League?

Sorry - I don't get how that will get people to come to the site?[/quote] You talking people outside the league looking at the website... a flashy website or naked girls or better yet both. You talking members of the league... has to be something where it involves the league and more so how they ca...

Re: OOTP 9 / salary demands

This is the only league I see this as a problem. Settings seem all the same as other leagues. Greed the same as other leagues. Same cash on hand, cash flow and the like. So what is different in this league? The only thing I see is the low amount of players available from the lesser then recommended ...

Re: Ways to Improve the League?

It is slowly becoming a league that's only interaction is with the game itself. I don't even have to visit the webpage, just download the file when the email comes. Download files, make draft lists and export then recycle. This is not good. So how do you suggest getting people to visit the page? Go...

Re: Ways to Improve the League?

What we miss is Canadians, we have too many Americans. The balance is out of whack. Would you like to help sometime? You'd think that Canadians dont' play OOTp or something Weird. I'll consider it for sure. Missed this I guess. My meaning: Canadians I have found are some of the best people to be in...

Montreal Trade Block

I could not beat Quebec last year and went flat in the 2nd half. I could not resign Hirtle, and it looks like trying to bid on him is also out of the question. So I might as well see if anyone could use any of my ML players and I will rebuild. The only untouchables are Nicholls SP, Chiasson RF and D...

Re: Promotion / Relegation for the CBL?

Not my cup of tea. For this league? Somehow I can't think that Chris has the time to manage something like this.

Re: OOTPX

Can of worms I would guess.

X is a better game in many ways. But it depends if people plan on buying another game. I do own it, so I would like the move.

Re: Sim 22 is up!

I have been quite busy of late and looking at my Montreal team they too have been busy. Busy losing games left and right. We have become the NY Mets of the CBL with this complete downturn. I knew Quebec was a very good club but we are now playing under .500 ball. Our chances of making the playoffs a...

Re: Sim 21 is up!

Forget the cap because

1) It worked old version , not new version.
2) Tough to enforce.
3) Hardly worth it to enforce anyway.

Re: Montreal looking forward..

Quebec lost one game in the last 2 weeks, we on the other hand played very poorly. We are now 6 games back. That is the bad news. The good news is we still lead the wild card race by 2 games. We can't afford to continue to play poorly, we are falling behind Quebec plus the wild card chance will also...

Re: Montreal looking forward..

We now are down by 3 games. Quebec not only has a good hitting team but they are red hot good hitting team. I am glad I don't have to play them right now. Could someone cool them off? It must be something in the water here in Montreal. Our coaches say some players have responded well to our teaching...

Re: Montreal looking forward..

Cavazos is again going to counted on to replace the hurt (again) Bogle. So scratch one very very rare find for now. We hope that he makes it back for the playoffs. The wheels have fallen off Phillips, we hope it is just short term as his last 2 starts have been horrible. Hirtle is hot, even his loss...

Re: Ways to Improve the League?

First off I'll state that I'm not a part of the league (and haven't been for a while), so my thoughts should probably be taken with a grain of salt. - having the colours, uniforms and logos of the various teams updated/refined if needed. It probably wont' help improve the league too much, but anyth...

Re: Moncton GM Calls It Quits

After taking into consideration what Mike, Kieran, and other have stated, I have done some long and hard thinking. If the GMs of this league still want me around, I will happily stay on if Chris has yet to find a new GM. If not, I will move on and pass the reigns to another GM. Mike is right. I nee...

Re: Moncton GM Calls It Quits

Well now that you've figured me out, help me figure out what exactly it is Brandon does and Mo did. :) Mo and Brandon both I never really got. I suspect both may have figured out something about the ratings that I haven't. Mo loved high movement (low HR) groundball pitchers, but other than liking d...

Montreal looking forward..

The last month or so was a tough month for injuries in Montreal. Triplett 2B, Morejon 1B . Blackburn SS and Bogle SP all are now off the DL. Now at full strength, we are ready for the dog days of summer. Our starting rotation is really starting to take shape. Phillips and Hirtle are a great one two ...

Re: Moncton GM Calls It Quits

As for why I have so many older guys in AAA, that has very little to do with hoping for development from them and it's not all about having emergency depth for the majors either. It's about something else which I'll let you guys wonder about. ;) I respect you as a GM period not that I don't respect...

Re: Moncton GM Calls It Quits

I am no math whiz but some things become quite clear. Known: Bumps will happen more to newly drafted picks and even more so to newly drafted pitchers. The higher the talent at the lower level, the more apt to receive a bump(the non tanking aspect of this game). Known: Boosts and bumps happen league ...
